
Raffle Rules & Disclosures
The Freedom Historical Society is celebrating its 60th Anniversary with a summer raffle. With 5 generous prizes, you can get in on the fun and excitement by purchasing raffle tickets at the Freedom Historical Society Museum on Old Portland Road or at one of our events. Your purchase goes toward supporting the preservation of Freedom’s history. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for 5 tickets. Tickets are not tax-deductible.
You can select which raffle prize(s) you prefer when you purchase one or more raffle tickets during FHS Anniversary Raffle. Each raffle prize is drawn separately. To enter the raffle, at least one ticket must be purchased for $5 each or $20 for five tickets. There is no limit to the number of tickets you may buy. FHS Anniversary Raffle is open to any United States resident 18 years or older in any state where the raffle is not prohibited by state, local, or other laws. Raffle ticket sales begin on May 4, 2025 and end at noon on October 11, 2025. All times referenced for the Anniversary Raffle are Eastern Time.
Five separate prizes are included in the Anniversary Raffle and each one will be drawn separately:
- TREK Bike – Gary Fischer’s Model DS 8.3 – 21” TREK Bike from his special 2013 hybrid Collection. Valued at $350-$400. Donated by Brandy Buttrick.
- Berry Bay Lakefront Cottage – one week stay for June 19-26, 2026. Valued at $1,400. Donated by Carole & Brian Taylor.
- Stone Mountain Gift Certificate for $100 toward any performance at the Stone Mountain Arts Center. Certificate is valid after raffle drawing winner is announced, October 2025. Donated by Stone Mountain Arts Center.
- Original watercolor painting, matted and framed of OId Portland Road by Elizabeth Acton. Valued at $250-$300. Donated by the Acton Family and the Freedom Historical Society.
- Chef-prepared dinner for 6 provided for you and your guests in your home. Valued at $350. Donated by Renee Wheaton, gourmet cook, and the Freedom Historical Society.
SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS: Winner(s) will be separately selected in a random drawing for each of the 5 prizes. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of FHS and will not be returned. Winners will be notified by phone, mail and/or email. If potential winner(s) cannot be reached after 10 days from the first notification attempt, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, or if a prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing.
GENERAL: By entering the raffle, participants agree that the Freedom Historical Society and their agents have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind which result from use of the prize, or by participation in the raffle. Contributions are not tax deductible. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Ticket purchases are not refundable.
ELIGIBILITY: Board Members of the FHS and their immediate family members (partners, spouse, children) are ineligible.
TAX OBLIGATIONS: The winner is responsible for paying all appropriate taxes and expenses resulting from winning a prize.
